Week of 1/23/12 Entry 2
This weekend is my great-uncle's funeral (I'm obviously writing this in a past-thoughts style here). I know that doesn't seem like much, but this guy was the second in the list of people who I share my name with. Well, not exactly. Before I explain what I mean, I just wanted to say that I'm going to use replacement names instead of my actual name (for obvious reasons). The reason why I'm not really the namesake of my great-uncle is that even though he is listed as the second in the list of namesakes in my family, he doesn't have the middle names that rest of us share. Here is what I mean: My great grandfather's name is (or was) William Sparrow Wadsworth Mcnamara the first. My father is the third, and I the fourth. My great-uncle's name is/was William Mcnamara the SECOND. My family constantly debates this quandary anytime it's brought up, but we've mostly resigned to the fact that, according to the government, he will always be the second. Also, if you noticed: Yes, my grandfather named his son after his brother. Don't ask me.
Week of 1/23/12 Entry 1
So, how about this internet, huh? Everything is insane on the web, nowadays. SOPA, PIPA, ACTA...All these acronyms are really getting hard to keep up with. I think that acronyms just make everyone a bit crazy, even in the best case scenarios. The internet community is up in arms about the aforementioned proposed acts, conspiracy theorists don't trust the CIA and FBI, & anyone who likes to cuss hates the FCC. I'm sure someone has already stated this case before, but instead of making the case that "the only acronym we need is the US of A! 'Mericuh!", I'm just simply stating that if you ever want to start off with a better response from people, you may just want to make a title that makes sense instead of just bunch of letters. Then again, I'm just some kid who doesn't understand the world. Why should a logical suggestion be heard out? Know what? I don't even care what the answer to that question is.
